From 1973 - 1980, Division 1 bands from ISMA and NISBOVA were eligible to participate at the All-State Marching Band Contest.  From 1973 - 1975, the event was held at Northwest High School in Indianapolis.  From 1976 - 1980, the event was held in Terre Haute at Indiana State University and area high schools.
